Description
Studio portrait of 4777 Private (Pte) George Day, 1st Divisional Ammunition Column, of North Fitzroy, Vic (originally of Bromley-By-Bow, England). Pte Day enlisted on 6 March 1915 at Bendigo and left Australia aboard RMS Persia on 10 August 1915. He later served with the 22nd Field Artillery Brigade and the 4th Field Artillery Brigade. On 28 January 1919 he married in London and returned to Australia on 5 April 1919 with his wife.
