Description
Studio portrait of 2726 Private (Pte) Albert Henry Spiby, 14th Battalion, of West Brunswick, Vic. Pte Spiby enlisted on 19 March 1915. He has three recorded embarkations: HMAT Euripides on 10 May 1915 where his serial number is 500, HMAT Suffolk on 31 July 1915 and HMAT Marakini on 15 September 1915.It is most likely he travelled on HMAT Marakini on 15 September 1915. On 3 March 1916 he joined the 46th Battalion where he remained until his return to Australia on 19 April 1919.
