Studio portrait of 994 Private (Pte) Alfred Benjamin Summersford, 22nd Battalion, of Fitzroy, Vic. Pte Summersford enlisted on 12 April 1915 and was killed in action on 17 April 1917 at Noreuil, France. A baker in civilian life, he was one of three brothers who served, another of whom also died.
