Description
Studio portrait of 2094 Private (Pte) Claude Ernest Ward, 3rd Reinforcements, 23rd Battalion, of Point Lonsdale, Vic. Pte Ward enlisted on 26 July 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Anchises on 26 August 1915. He was killed in action on 27 July 1916 in France while serving with the 22nd Battalion.
