Description
Studio portrait of 2786 Private (Pte) Harold Davies, 9th Reinforcements, 7th Battalion, of Benalla, Vic. Pte Davies enlisted on 30 June 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Star of Victoria on 10 September 1915. He was awarded the Military Medal (MM) on 21 September 1916 and returned to Australia on 13 March 1918. His brother 3087 Pte George Davies, 7th Reinforcements, 23rd Battalion, of Brunswick, Vic, was killed in action on 19 July 1916 at Fleurbaix, France. See also DA10402.
