Description
Studio portrait of 2904 Private (Pte) Alfred Sternheim, 9th Reinforcements, 5th Battalion, of Melbourne, Vic (originally of Dalston, London, England). Pte Sternheim enlisted on 29 June 1915 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Star of Victoria on 10 September 1915. He returned to Australia on 24 August 1918 as a member of the 57th Battalion.
