Description
Studio portrait of 1313 Private (Pte) Ernest Bolney Scott, 29th Battalion. An engine driver from Brunswick, Victoria prior to enlistment, Pte Scott embarked with D Company from Melbourne on HMAT Ascanius on 10 November 1915. Later wounded in action, he was invalided to England. Following his recovery he transferred to the 57th Battalion and was wounded in action for the second time. Evacuated to England once more, he became dangerously ill due to his wounds and died on 25 May 1018, aged 22, and was buried in the Brookwood Cemetery, Surrey, England. See also DASEY1561.
