Description
Studio portrait of 3582 Private (Pte) Leslie Charles Mills of Briagolong, Vic (left) and his brother 3583 Pte James Henry Mills (right). The Mills brothers enlisted on 6 August 1915 and embarked aboard HMAT Afric on 5 January 1915. They both served with the 23rd Battalion and later the 59th Battalion. On 19 July 1917 Leslie Charles Mills was killed in action at Fromelles in France and his brother was badly wounded on the same day. James Henry Mills returned to Australia on 30 January 1918.
