Studio portrait of, left to right, 3454 Private (Pte) Hugh Baker, 21st Battalion, of Northcote, Vic; 3456 Pte Charles Bannon, 21st Battalion, of Terang, Vic ; and 3453 Private (Pte) Percy Baker, 21st Battalion, of Colac, Vic. Hugh Baker enlisted on 28 June 1915 and embarked aboard HMAT Demosthenes on 29 December 1915. On 21 December 1917 he returned to Australia with the 59th Battalion. Pte Bannon enlisted on 15 July 1915 and embarked aboard HMAT Demosthenes on 29 December 1915. On 19 July 1916 he was killed in action at Fleurbaix in the Fromelles area of France while serving with the 60th Battalion. Percy Baker enlisted on 16 July 1915 and embarked aboard HMAT Demosthenes on 29 December 1915. He was killed in action on 19 July 1916 during the Battle of Fromelles in France while serving with the 59th Battalion.
