Two members of the 8th Battalion manning the recently improved Biscuit Trench. Facing the camera is 803 Corporal (later Sergeant) A Lawton of C Company and on the right is Lieutenant (later Adjutant) A D Temple MC, Lewis Gun Officer. At the time German troops were located 300 yards away.
