Members of 3rd Australian Machine Gun Company watching the effect of allied artillery fire near Eaucourt l'Abbaye during the advance on the Somme. Identified from left to right are 3766 Private (Pte) Harold (Henry) St Clair Henstridge of Adelaide, SA; unidentified (with telescope); 2623 Pte Robert Leslie Hutchinson of Brisbane, Qld and 2026 Pte Thomas Henry Todd of Parkside, SA. Pte Henstridge was killed in action at Glencorse Wood, Belgium, on 20 September 1917, Pte Hutchinson was later awarded the Military Medal (MM) for actions as a company runner at Glencourse Wood on the night of 23/24 September 1917, and Pte Todd was later awarded the MM for actions as a company runner at Le Barque between 25-27 February 1917.
