Description

An Australian soldier writing his name on the base of a monument in the square at Bapaume. Surmounting the pedestal is a stovepipe anti-aircraft 'dummy gun', erected by the Germans. In the background horses are being fed, the one on the right has a feed bag. Note the webbing and personal equipment hanging on the fence in the left foreground. The Town Hall is in the background.
