Looking towards Mouquet Farm, in December 1916, from the position from which the main attack on the Farm was launched by the 13th Brigade on 3 September 1916. The officer on the left (darker uniform) is Captain F J C Sale, MC (and later Bar), 21st Battalion. The officer on the right is probably Captain C E W Bean.
