Members of the 5th Australian Field Ambulance bringing in wounded during the Australian attack at Broodseinde Ridge, in the Ypres Sector. This photograph, taken between Ideal House and Westhoek, shows the useful light railway by which the majority of the casualties of that sector were transported to Westhoek Ridge, being taken from there by horse ambulance back to Birr Cross Roads, from which loading post they were removed in motor ambulances to the advanced dressing stations on the Menin Road. Identified, at the front pulling the stretcher cart are: 16693 Lance Corporal (LCpl) J T Duggleby (standing between the railway lines), and 2975 LCpl C H Montague.
