Members of the 1st Australian Light Trench Mortar Battery, 1st Australian Division listening to "the latest" from one of their comrades around a fire or possibly a kerosene lamp in a dugout billet at Ypres. It is a typical scene, for billet life with the Australian was as cheerful as his fighting was terribly earnest.
