Three members of the 44th Battalion, comfortably located in a hay shed at Bonnay, during a brief rest from the fighting in April, after the great German push towards Amiens had been brought to a standstill by the Australian Corps. Left to right, 945 Private Edwin Arthur Byers, from Subiaco, Western Australia, 878 Corporal John Henry King, MSM (received for "devotion to duty and consistent good work with the Battalion Transport") from Perth, Western Australia, and 415 Lance Corporal Cecil Leland Anderson, from Fremantle, Western Australia.
