Description
Men of the 10th Infantry Brigade outside their dugout shelters in the sunken road from Sailly-le-Sec to the main Corbie-Amiens Road. The troops in this position had just previously suffered heavy casualties from short ranged British shellfire. Left to right: 3726 Private (Pte) N. R. Vicary; 3688 Pte W. J. Keller; 3344 Pte R. H. Lovell; 2796 Pte M. J. Casey; soldier to the extreme right is unidentified. All the men are members of the 43rd Battalion.
