Description

New trenches being dug at Franvillers, in France, by a British Labour Battalion. Franvillers was occupied at Headquarters by the 3rd Division, on 27 March, when the German advance on Amiens at this point was stopped. Trench systems in rear of our line were hurriedly dug, but the defence by the Australian Corps made their use as such unnecessary.
