Description
The Town Hall was blown up about midnight, while two companies of the 22nd Battalion were on the march up from Le Sars to billet in the Town Hall. They arrived to be immediately given the task of removing the debris from the street. Unidentified company with shovels digging amidst the ruins, which took days. At left back, second line in, overlooking the excavation, is Captain Wagstaff, Tunnelling Company. Standing in front of ruined buildings, second from right, is Brigadier General Martin CMG DSO.
