View of Westhoek Ridge (right) and Clapham Junction (left) taken from Stirling Castle at 9.00 am when the troops of the 1st and 2nd Divisions operated over this area. Unidentified soldiers can be seen along the base of the ridge near a disabled tank on the far left. Other soldiers are near another disabled tank in the centre and through the trenches (centre, right). Note the decimated trees in the foreground (far right). This is a composite panorama made up of three separate original Paget Plate negatives. It is a digitally combined image and is only available as a digital print. The three images are also available separately at E02069A, E02069B and E02069C. The same composite panorama is available in colour and is held at P03631.237.
