Description
Members of the 9th Brigade enjoying themselves on boats in the waters of the Somme Canal, near Amiens after their attack and capture of the enemy's position on Morlancourt front 6 May 1918. The abandoned city of Amiens was out of bounds to troops. The same night they left the rest billets to go into the line at Villers-Bretonneux. The man sitting on the high divine pedestal is Sapper Robbie of 9th Field Company Engineers.
