Description
A view of ruins of Strazeele in Northern France. A month earlier, on 14 April the village was the centre of a fierce battle, in which the troops of the 1st Division crushed the massed attacks of three divisions of the enemy, and exacted a heavy toll of killed and wounded. Two enemy field guns opened fire at 800 yards were forced to retire by Lewis gun fire.
