Description
The ruined church, ten days after the capture of the village by troops of the 6th Infantry Brigade. Following their successful operations on the morning of 19 May 1918, the 22nd Battalion made a large dump of captured trophies at the church, and the same night limbers came up through the shellfire and collected them. As a result of this slick piece of work, the Australian War Museum added many interesting souvenirs to its collection.
