Description
The Hangars in front of Villers-Bretonneux. Around this aerodrome, which fell into German hands during March, considerable fighting subsequently took place. The Australian troops persistently raided the enemy in this vicinity, and on 21 June, a party from the 37th Battalion rushed the hangars from two sides at once, routed the garrison, and wrecked the stronghold. The large house on the horizon, known as the "Maison Bleue", was used as an observation post by the enemy until it became a target of the Australian artillery
