Description
The house near Ville-sur-Ancre, upon which a successful local attack was carried out by companies of the 58th and 59th Battalions, during the battle of Hamel. The building, which marked the extreme left of the attack, sheltered a strong German post, and concealed the crops with barbed wire entanglements. The village of Morlancourt is in front of the distant ridge, from which the enemy had good observation.
