Description
Two unidentified soldiers inspecting some of the German guns captured by the Australian troops in the great offensive which commenced on 8 August 1918. The enemy, on 11 August, resisted heavily on the Lihons Ridge, but broke down before the 1st and 2nd Divisions in their attack supported by a creeping barrage. The attack resulted in the capture of important positions and considerable gains in field pieces and machine guns.
