The village as it appeared on 16 August 1918. It was captured by the Germans during the March offensive and retaken on 8 August 1918 by the 17th and 18th Battalions, 5th Australian Infantry Brigade, after some rifle fighting with German forces north of the village. Note the heavily shell damaged buildings in the background. This is the left hand image in a two part panorama. The right hand image is held at E03087 for right hand image.
