The wrecked carriage of the German 15 inch naval gun near Chuignolles, with members of the 12th Mobile Artillery alongside. Identified is Sergeant G. L. E. Davies (standing by himself beside the gun) (1). Also known to be in the group around the barrel of the gun: 1907 Driver David McKinley, killed in action 3 October 1918 at Joncourt (27); 1917 Gunner (Gnr) J. C. Robertson (28); 21469 Gnr Percy Davies (29); 34625 Gnr L. S. Hudson, evacuated 17 October 1918 suffering from gas (30).
