Description

Limbers of the 22nd and 23rd Battalions hurrying past a shelled corner to the shelter of a steep hillside, after having conveyed Stokes trench mortar shells to a dump near Lost Ravine. Note the old German train line skirting the ruined village of Clery on the left, which was the scene of heavy shelling. The men of the 22nd Battalion seen crossing the road are moving up to support the attack on Mont St Quentin.
