Description

The bridge and water wheel at the southern entrance to Peronne, showing the destruction left by the retreating enemy as he was pushed back by the Australians. The village of Flamicourt, seen in the distance to the left, was at this time in the hands of the enemy. Identified, standing behind the wheel, left to right are: Corporal Marshall; Private McBriar; Sergeant Gray; Lieutenant A. H. Perkins. All are members of B Company, 5th Pioneers Battalion.
