Smoke rising from huts and stores fired by the retreating Germans during the Australian advance ...
Description
Smoke rising from huts and stores fired by the retreating Germans during the Australian advance beyone Peronne. The trees running from left to right in the centre of the photograph, line the Mont St Quentin - Peronne Road. The front line ran along the hedge just beyond the trees. The enemy was seen to set fire to the buildings in the centre skyline, and march away his men, four abreast, at about 11 a.m.
