Description

Bags of German flour at a captured Field Bakery, at Biaches. The nature and quality of this 'flour' can be judged by the ease with which the Australian sergeant is holding the bag suspended with one hand. The flour looked and tasted like sawdust, and was only one of two main ingredients in the bread usually found with the Germans. The other substance was much heavier for its bulk.
