Description
A view between Barleux and Assevillers, showing hutments and dugouts abandoned by German forces and subsequently occupied by the Australian Corps Headquarters. A number of unidentified Australian soldiers are gathered in front of the buildings in the background (right). These buildings were occupied by the Corps Commander, the Chief Engineer and Chief Signal Officer, while the remainder of the Staff were accommodated in the buildings further along the road on the left. Note a truck with the Rising Sun emblem on the side (foreground left). This is a digitally combined composite panorama made up of two separate images. It is only available as a digital print. The two images are also available separately at E03602A and E03602B.
