Description
The Chateau on the Warfusee Abancourt Road near Villers-Bretonneux, an area which during April and the several months following was the scene of much bloodshed and fighting. The photograph was taken after the Australian advance had pushed back the German forces. The chateau was used as Regimental Aid Post and the letters R.A.P are visible on the lower left side of the building. An unidentified soldier can be seen standing in the doorway of the chateau.
