Description
A Mark IV female tank at Inverness Copse during the fighting by troops of the 1st and 2nd Australian Divisions. Note the stretcher party, comprised of German prisoners, seen on the right conveying wounded troops. The tank is possibly a wireless carrying tank, as evidenced by the radio aerial raised in position on the left side of the vehicle. Earlier examples of wireless carrying tanks mounted the aerial on the front glacis plate, with support wires leading back onto the hull top superstructure.
