The battlefield where the 15th Brigade operated on 19 July 1916. The 5th Australian Division suffered very heavy casualties in this area and it was not until some time after the battle that the remaining dead were buried by the Graves Registration Unit. Note the Australian kits on the ground (left) having lain there since the action of 1916.
