Description
A German concrete observation post used during the attack of the 5th Australian Division on 19 July 1916. The post was built on a mound that was once the Church of Fromelles. The deep black area immediately below the concrete was the opening through which the observer looked. Note the debris covering the top of the post, possibly for camouflage.
