An outdoors group portrait of unidentified members of the 5th Australian Light Trench Mortar Battery. Two lieutenants in the front row (third from the right and fourth from the left) are wearing Military Cross ribbons. Note a dog, also in the front row (second from the right), probably the battery's mascot, and two Stokes mortars.
