A convoy of motor lorries standing by the main road during continued fighting at Armentieres. The German Offensive had begun near Armentieres on 9 April, but was checked by the 1st Australian Division at Strazeele and Merris on 13 April during the German push to seize Hazebrouck. In the background a church and other village buildings are visible. Note several soldiers and civilians on and along the road.
