Description
Two unidentified members of the Australian Field Artillery camouflaging the blast marks scorched on the grass by an 18 pounder gun. This is necessary when a gun is sunk low in the ground as the firing scorches the grass within a radius of several yards making the position an easily defined mark. This gun position is located on the outskirts of the village and the church steeple in the background (right).
