Six unidentified Australian soldiers cultivating the Army controlled civil vegetable gardens. The extensive market gardens in this vicinity, deserted by their owners, were taken over by our troops, and kept in order during April, May, June, and July. The vegetables were a welcome addition to ordinary Army fare.
