Description
A convoy of seven disabled tanks, visible against the horizon, on the battlefield near Duncan Post. The tanks where blown up by land mines scattered within a radius of 350 yards. The previous day the 27th American Division had launched their attack on the Hindenburg Main Line from Duncan Post and a number of tanks supporting the operations were disabled by land mines and gunfire at the outset. The confusion in the fighting early that morning, during which the Americans attacked Gillemont Farm, was greatly due to the loss of these tanks before they reached our own front line.
