Description
The Rt Hon William Morris Hughes, Prime Minister of Australia, during a visit to the 5th Australian Division Headquarters, addressing a large crowd of Australian troops from a rotunda in the main square. The Hotel de Ville [town hall] is the large building on the right of the image and shops are at the rear of the group, where some locals look on from the windows. Several civilians are amongst the crowd, and horses and cars are present in and around the group. This panorama is one of a series taken for the Australian War Records Section with a 'Cirkut' camera.
