Description
Unidentified members of the medical corps and wounded soldiers gathered outside the receiving room for the wounded at a Regimental Aid Post. The wounded soldier in the foreground (far right) is a member of the 6th Army Field Artillery, Brigade Park Section. The interior of this post was fitted with beds for patients who were unable to travel. On the left are three medical corps members in the first stage of fitting the Thomas Hip Splint for fracture. The splint consists of an outer longer rod, an inner shorter rod and an oval ring, set at an angle of 120 degrees to the inner rod. Note another splint standing up against the doorway.
