Description

Unidentified stretcher bearers of the 2nd Australian Division carrying a wounded soldier through a trench during the Australian attack on that section of the Hindenburg Line between 29 September and 5 October 1918. The wounded man had been brought from the Regimental Aid Post and was being transported to the Advanced Dressing Station established near Bellicourt.
