Infantrymen of the 6th Brigade, 2nd Australian Division, march back to their billets after a spell of duty in the front line trenches. Watching them pass are soldiers of the 2nd Brigade, who would shortly head for their second tour of duty at Pozieres. The first Australian battalions moved into the front line of the Western Front on 7 April 1916.
