Description

Scenes from aboard HMAS Sydney taken a few months before her loss on 19 November 1941. Catapult launch of HMAS Sydney's Supermarine Walrus amphibious biplane reconnaissance aircraft. Firing 4-inch High Angle Quick Firing Mark V guns on Mark IV Mounting and firing two 6" Mark XXIII guns which were housed in four Mark XXI twin turrets. Recovery of Walrus seaplane. This film was Mr Shilkin's first attempt at film making.
