Race meeting at Barbara Camp
Description
Captain Eugene Gorman KC, The Commissioner for the Australian Comforts Fund and a prominent racing man in Australia, organised a race meeting in Palestine at Barbara Camp which took place just before some of the Australian troops moved to Egypt. It was a tremendous success and was watched by 8,000 spectators. Identified personnel are: Brigadier S G Savige, Brigadier H C H Robertson, General Sir Thomas Blamey and Andy Anderson (book-maker).
