Cameramen at war

A Ministry of Information film produced by the Realist Film Unit with acknowledgement to the Newsreel companies, the Services film units and the Trustees of the Imperial War Museum. The story of British newsreel cameramen under battle conditions compiled by Len Lye. Includes footage of the campaign in France, 1940, the raid on Vaagso, Norway 27 December 1941, bombing raid on the Italian fleet, the shelling of Dover, Arctic convoy under attack, bombing raid on Essen, operations in North Africa and the invasion of Sicily in July 1943. Also shows a few scenes from the 1914-1918 war including US film director D W Griffith setting up a camera in the trenches, tanks in action and the future Supreme Allied Commander in the Mediterranean Field Marshal, General Sir Harold Alexander.
