Duisberg (Ops 236) Brunswick (Ops 238)
Description
RAF Bomber Command Operational Films No 236 and No 238 Duisberg, Germany, 14 October 1944. "Owing to bad cloud conditions it was not possible to get material of the big attack on Duisburg in daylight, apart from a shot of incendiaries and a 4,000lb bomb falling out of a Lancaster." (RAAF Sqns 460, 462 & 466 took part in the Duisberg raid.) Ops 238 Brunswick 14-15 October 1944. "Bomber Command following up their great attack on Duisberg, made a heavy and concentrated attack on the industrial town of Brunswick, which is one of Germany's biggest centres for the aircraft and engineering industries. As the aircraft with the cameras runs up to the target the fires can be seen spreading rapidly all over the city and by the time the aircraft is over the target the whole city is ablaze qnd the streets can be seen clearly outlined."
